Stan Clark Orchestra

The Stan Clark Orchestra is a 17 piece 'Big Band' that play outstanding charts from the golden era of big bands as well as many exciting contemporary charts.  Often they are graced with the presence of vocalist extraordinaire, Johnny Vegas.

Sometime in the early 2000's (or was it the late '90s), on a street in Old Ottawa South, Stan Clark gathered up a group of 'ne'er do well's to form a swing band for a street party.  Barricades were set up, a canoe was filled with ice and beer.  Platters of Gourmet delights weighed heavy upon pop-up tables.  Folks were merry, as might be expected. The light faded and the band started.  Probably with Blue Velvet.  A spark was ignited!!  A night to remember!!

Today, Stan may be gone, but the band plays on.  From his seat in the saxophone section, Norm MacNeil now leads the band.

Recognized as one of Ottawa's elite big bands, The Stan Clark Orchestra delight audiences with their dynamic sound and diverse song selctions.

I have been playing trombone since the group's inception and every now and then (when Johnny is unavailable) I get to sing.

As I'm in the band and forget to ask people to send photos, I have few of my own to display, none of which are any good.  The one above is blurred to protect the identities of folks with something to hide.

You can visit The SCO on Facebook (The Stan Clark Orchestra) or on their webpage https://www.stanclarkorchestra.ca/.  Here you will find proof that all of the above is true!
